Children Walking Tall

Goa, India

CWT is a relatively new charity working for street children – in Goa, India. It was set up in 2004 by a maths teacher and a computer programmer, in response to their experience of seeing the needs of street children. They have an excellent video on their website. They are currently concentrating on building a small centre where the street kids can come for some food, medical care, education, clothing, and the opportunity of using clean showers and toilets.

What they are doing is very much like the Dum Dum project run by OFFER in Kolkata, which we supported for a number of years. There is much more detail on their website, including copies of their monthly newsletter and write-ups by various volunteers who have gone out there to help.
