Neuvo Futuro is an NGO we have supported at the request of the organisers of the Edinburgh Fashion Show, who donated a substantial amount of money through SSSK, half of which was to go to Nuevo Futuro. Since it was started in the mid 1990s, the NGO has looked after more than 270 Peruvian children, and runs four residential homes in Lima. Their principal aim is to provide children with a secure environment whilst an adoption process is completed. However, the scale of the need is such that many of the abandoned children aren’t adopted. Nuevo Futuro provides care, support and education for children up to the age of sixteen. The children receive health care and life skills training, to give them a chance of earning a living when they leave the Nuevo Futuro shelters.
